Only way to fix ANC is to get rid of corrupt members

- By Lyborn Rikhotso ■ Rikhotso is a Sowetan reader

How is the ANC going to root out corruption if most of its politicians and millions of supporters on the ground believe there is nothing wrong in misappropriation of government funds earmarked for the development of poor people?

How can the ANC be renewed if some supporters and members of the organisation believe there is nothing wrong with corruption as it is radical economic transformation? Stealing of public funds by ANC comrades and their friends has been normalised in the party. Renewal of the ANC would be a pipe dream because its members are divided on how to deal with comrades who are alleged to be involved in corruption.

The ANC has been infiltrated by crooks and thieves for their personal interests and some of them joined the party after 1990.

There will be no renewal of the organisation if crooks and thieves are not expelled from the party. I do not understand why the ANC doesn’t expel comrades who brought the party into disrepute as they have soiled the organisation.

Why is it so difficult to expel wayward comrades?

General Bantu Holomisa was expelled because he exposed corruption.

There is also a narration that should comrades involved in corruption step aside, there would be chaos. What chaos? There is no one who can destroy the ANC. Crooks and thieves can take the ANC to court, but they will not succeed. It is just an empty threat by radical economic transformation hyenas and vultures.

If crooks and thieves are not happy about the step-aside matter, they must just leave the party and form their own party that will tolerate corruption. The Nasrec resolution should be implemented to get rid of rotten potatoes .

The second in command in state capture, Elias Ace Magashule, and other crooks and thieves must step aside until their cases are concluded. They have soiled the party formed by principled men 109 years ago. It would be naive for the leadership of the ANC to allow crooks and thieves to continue soiling the party.

Rotten potatoes should be thrown into garbage bins once and for all. The ANC cant be held ransom by Jacob Zuma and his fellow crooks and thieves.

The ANC opened windows and mosquitoes got inside the house as Gwede Mantashe once said. The pests have multiplied as they have laid eggs hence it is very difficult for the ANC to get rid of them.

I hope the ANC in the near future will not allow branches to elect known crooks and thieves to positions of power. The current problems in the ANC have been caused by their likes elected to positions of power. Let there be havoc so that the ANC could get rid of hyenas and vultures from the organisation.

The ANC also made a big mistake for allowing people to join the organisation without profiling them, particularly those who joined the party in the late 1980s and 1990s.

The ANC has done a lot since 1994, but of late, billions of rands have been siphoned off by the hyenas who now want a political solution as if the money stolen belongs to the ANC. The money stolen belongs to the people of SA, period.

It is not wrong for the ANC to unite – but not with hyenas and vultures.
