A recipe for success in properly managing your money

Four tips that could do the trick

- By Nombuso Kumalo

Many people bury their heads in the sand whenever the conversation about their finances is brought up.

If an organ in our bodies is not functioning at its optimum, then the entire body is sick. Similarly, when we are unhealthy in our spirit this interrupts the flow of money in our lives. Incorporate these tips for your financial wellness and success.

Money is an extension of

yourself

Money is a part of us – it has an attachment to our dreams, goals, happiness and security. When we view money as our other limb or an extension of yourselves, our intentions surrounding it also change.

Life experiences can be great teachers that can help us grow spiritually, whilst healing our wallets.

Our life experiences can shift our attention away from lack and restore our spiritual connection and fulfilment.

Unclog your financial flow

Money has a flow of energy. On the surface, money is just paper and metal which cannot think for itself. As such, it becomes our responsibility to direct the flow of its energy. This can be done through being conscious about our money.

Take time to evaluate your spending habits. Secondly, make a difference with your money. Becoming more philanthropic with your money will return to you in abundance.

Pay your future

Inasmuch as how money can work for us today, it will have a greater harvest in the future if we choose to be wise about it.

Whether you are planning for early retirement or starting up an emergency fund, your money today should pay for your future. Get into the habit of setting aside 20% of your salary to pay your future self.

With the remainder of your money, consider choosing a new way to enjoy your money that cultivates self-appreciation and gratitude.

Perform acts of financial kindness

Generosity has the ability to lift our spirits and refresh our perspective on the purpose of money. Consider using money to show someone you love them. Do well by the people who haven’t been a blessing to you and bless them, but consider keeping it anonymous. You will find that spending money on them changes your feelings towards them.
