Last season: champions MTN8: first round Nedbank Cup: semifinals Sundowns were superb in every department as they dominated from the word go. And they deservedly walked away with their fourth league title in a row. They had a new coaching structure with Steve Komphela joining Manqoba Mngqithi and Rulani Mokwena, and a host of new players. Footballer of the year Peter Shalulile shone through, while Rushine de Reuck fitted the team like a glove. Given that they suffered tragedy with the passing of Anele Ngcongca and Motjeka Madisha, winning the title with a 13-point margin was a remarkable achievement.
