Guide children, don’t spoil them
It’s strange that parents expect children to grow up and become responsible citizens and yet they rarely lift a finger to guide them properly. Disciplining a child is never pleasant but it must be done.
Parenting is a huge responsibility and without it, children will run amok and end up in all sorts of troubles.
This new generation is in a league of their own, thinking they know a lot despite falling foul of traps such as as teen pregnancy, drug and alcoholism abuse. That shows they need guidance and strong hands to discipline wayward behaviour.
We can’t expect them to know how to do things if we don’t teach them. Teach the children responsible behaviour, such as cleaning after themselves after any activity. For example, children must from as early as possible to wash their own plates and cups after eating.
There is a difference between tough love and spoiling the children.
Tough love empower children to grow up to be industrious and selfsufficient.
Spoiled children on the other never stop demanding to be looked after even when they reach adult.
