De Kock holds Summer Cup Aces

An exceptionally strong field of 19 runners will contest the Betway Summer Cup over 2000m at Turffontein on Saturday.

Three trainers – Mike de Kock, Sean Tarry and Johan Janse van Vuuren – dominate, saddling a total of 13 runners between them.

Of the three, De Kock seems to hold a few Aces – not just as far as horses are concerned, but also with relation to jockeys.

Water after the duo won the Durban July this year. Muzi Yeni has been entrusted to ride Safe Passage, Richard Fourie will be aboard Aragosta and Randall Simons will pair up with MK’s Pride.

Tarry has, however, won four of the last five Summer Cups.
