JC PHOTOGRAPHICS Argentinian bred Puerto Manzano, trained by Johan Janse van Vuuren, scored his first Grade 1 victory on Saturday at Turffontein when victorious in the Grade 1 Betway Summer Cup over 2000m on the Standside track. Ridden by Keagan de Melo, the five-year-old gelding outmuscled Mike de Kock’s Safe Passage by 0.50 lengths. Another 0.90 lengths back in third was Aragosta with the old man of the race, Divine Odyssey, showing he had lost none of his old spark, only a head further back in fourth. /
