South African greats will strut their stuff in old-school show

■ MERVYN Pillay’s latest comic offering, Bollywood Comedy Nite, will be at Durban’s Sibaya Casino’s iZulu Theatre for two nights on August 9 and 10. Tickets through Computicket start at R100 each.

■ SEE the wonderful Wizard of Oz ballet at the University of Johannesburg’s Arts Centre from July 12 to 14. The story is told through multimedia elements and dance. Tickets are R120 each through Computicket.
■ CAN You Feel It?, this year’s Rainbow Young Performers production, is on stage at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre, University of KwaZulu-Natal, Glenwood, Durban, until July 14. The show’s creators have upended the traditional musical format in favour of something with “great singing, dance, and physical theatre with a distinct ‘Cirque du Soleil’ feel”. ■ BLAST From The Past is an all-star South African old-school production featuring Cyril Francis of the Jets, Idries Fredericks, Steve Fataar of The Flames and Dee Sharma’s Dukes Combo.
