Homesick Chester has his CV ready

-

AFTER spending the last six or so years coaching abroad, World Cup ’95 hero Chester Williams wants to come home. Williams coached in Tunisia and Uganda before heading for the foothills of the Carpathians. Tightheads caught up with the former Cats’ coach where he is currently coaching Romanian club side Timisoara. Said Williams shortly after touching down in Bucharest this week: “I want to come home. Tell the folks over there I’m looking for a job.” Folks, you’ve been told.

THE British & Irish Lions have displayed some good humour on their current tour of Australia. Deadly fullback Leigh Halfpenny has earned the nickname ”Discount“, while the Irish have christened En-

glish centre Billy Twelvetrees, “36”.

TIGHTHEADS, as you should know by now, have spies everywhere. Just this week we were informed of Siya Kolisi’s dashing dress sense when he attended a Cape Town performance of the Broadway smash hit musical Jersey Boys, which chronicles the lives of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. After his marvellous recent entry into test rugby we wonder if Kolisi felt a little sheepish when the performers broke into Who loves you?

WALLABY and Waratahs utility back and serial late-night prowler Kurtley Beale went walkabout again this week. Three days before the second test he was spotted at 3.50am at a fast-food outlet, but team management were quick to stress there had been no infraction of their team protocols as he had not been drinking and it was on the player’s day off. It is fair to suggest they might have had a different explanation had they not been so depleted by injury.

INJURED British & Irish Lions centre Jamie Roberts has endured a frustrating tour on the sidelines but on the eve of the second test in Melbourne he took to the stage and played rhythm guitar for Welsh rockers The Manic Street Preachers.
