OYSTER FESTIVAL

The Pick n Pay Knysna Oyster Festival is on now until July 7. One of the festival’s most popular events, the Pick n Pay Flavours of Knysna gourmet evening, will be held on July 3, when up to 15 local restaurate­urs will compete with their signature oyster dishes. In addition, up to 10 wine estates will be offering tastings, included in the price of entry.

Then on July 7, join in the 5km Women’s Walk to raise funds for the PinkDrive, who provide free breast-cancer exams and education to women in underprivi­leged communitie­s.

FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS RETURNS TO GORDON’S BAY

The annual Festival of Lights is on now in Gordon’s Bay until July 22. The highlight — the Winter Wonderland Carnival — ends today. Dress warmly and head to the beachfront for wine tasting, pavement parties and performanc­es by live bands.

golden era at the Casa Labia Cultural Centre on June 30 at 5pm. The R150 ticket includes a glass of champagne and cheese straws.

CAPE TOWN FUNNY FESTIVAL

Until July 7 at the Baxter Theatre, the annual comedy festival showcases the best local and internatio­nal performers. Shows are Monday to Friday at 8pm; Saturday at 5pm and 8pm. Tickets are R150.
