Smash: Series 2 (M-Net Series Showcase, Channel 113, Today, 19.30)

The first series revolved around a fictional New York theatre company, who created the musical Bombshell about the life of Marilyn Monroe. The show was a hit in Boston, but taking it to Broadway was not easy. Tough producer Eileen (Anjelica Huston), writer Julia (Debra Messing) and arrogant director Derek (Jack Davenport) engage in a war of egos.

The Darjeeling Limited (e.tv, Channel 194, Thursday, 22:25)

Director Wes Anderson is an eccentric filmmaker who loves characters who don’t easily fit into society. In this film, three brothers who have not met for years go on a trip to India to meet their mother, played by Anjelica Huston. The three actors — Owen Wilson, Adrien Brody and Jason Schwartzma­n — fit perfectly into the oddness.

The Hunger Games (M-Net, Channel 101, Today, 20:05)

This is the story of a poverty-stricken community who are targets of a decadent society, in which the wealthy capture them for use in a cruel hunt to the death. A young woman, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), becomes the heroine who must lead her tribe to overthrow the corrupt ruling class.

William and Kate in the South Sea Islands (BBC Knowledge, Channel 184, Tuesday, 21:00)

During the Diamond Jubilee tour, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge represente­d Queen Elizabeth on the Asia-Pacific leg. This programme follows them as they cover 37 000km and cross 11 time zones on their journey from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur to the Solomon Islands and jungles of Sabah.

How to Live with Your Parents (M-Net, Channel 101, Friday, 19:00)

A divorced mother, Polly (Sarah Chalke), is forced to move in with her parents (Elizabeth Perkins and Brad Garrett), something she sees as a personal failure. To add to the complexity, one of her best male friends wants to start a relationsh­ip with her while her truant ex-husband is trying to get back into her life.

How to Create a Garden (Home, Channel 183, Saturday, 20:00)

Expert gardeners Kitty Scully and Peter Dowdall start to build their gardens by shaping a variety of trees and plants that will keep the garden growing into a classic form.
