Women embrace the launch of yet another anti-ageing product

-

THE launch of Pond’s Gold Radiance range at The Venue in Sandton gave extra shine to Egoli on Thursday last week.

The new range promises to slow down ageing — and Johannesburg’s most gorgeous women were there to find out more.

About 250 guests sipped champagne and enjoyed the finger snacks while waiting for the “fountain of youth” to be revealed.

The Venue was covered in gold — from the lighting to the décor — and pretty little orchids in testtube vases dangled delicately from the ceiling. Gigantic gold picture frames were set up to showcase the five outfits designer David Tlale had created specifically for the cosmetics range.

EVERYTHING THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD: Former Miss South Africa Jo-Ann Strauss, who was the master of ceremonies for the evening, looked radiant in a bronze Tlale creation. Sphe Mjadu, public relations for Unilever, which makes Pond’s, told me the company had partnered with Tlale because “beauty and fashion go hand in hand”. DIVA : Tlale looked the part of a diva in a black shirt that extended into a train, and black skinny jeans— paired with gold accessories.

He had also created exquisite gold jewellery to complement his outfits.

I overheard one of the guests saying she had made her lounge curtains out of the same fabric Tlale had used in one of his designs.

On the subject of divas, also at the party was model and businesswoman Shashi Naidoo, who looked fabulous in a white minidress with gold embellishments. So was entertainer Jen Su in a black-and-gold outfit and television and radio personality Dineo Ranaka, who looked chic in a leopardprint shirt with a cream miniskirt. OVERALL: After the formalities, the women could not wait to get their hands on the new range anti-ageing cosmetics — and get their glow on.
