OUTDOOR ADVENTURE The Gravity Adventure Festival is back for its 12th year of action-packed thrills, spills, sprints and swims at the Kogelberg Biosphere, just outside Kleinmond.

NOSTALGIA

The Truth Sessions is a show that will take you on a rock’n’roll road trip with recently reunited ’80s rockers Falling Mirror.

The band is best known for their massive hit Johnny Calls The Chemist, but these sessions offer a candid, two-part insight into the band’s 30-year musical journey.

The show runs every Saturday until the end of September, starting at 8pm.

COMEDY Comedians congregate for the Mass Hysteria comedy show at the GrandWest Grand Arena on August 16 and 17.

MUSIC The Unisa Music Foundation lunch-hour concert series is on at the Muckleneuk Campus in Pretoria.

On August 16, the Young Talent Concert will take place at 1pm in the Miriam Makeba Concert Hall, featuring violinists Busisiwe Mashita and Thapelo Lephoto; a young ensemble from the Kingdom Life Centre; vocalist Onica Moyo; and Katlego Ndlovu and Leago Mahlangu on jembe drums.

CIRCUS

The Cirque de la Symphonie opens at the Teatro at Montecasin­o for two shows only on August 17 at 8pm and August 18 at 2pm.

Hailed by critics and audiences in Europe, America and Australia, the show features an array of circus acts, ranging from jugglers to strongmen, acrobats, aerial flyers and contortion­ists. Their performanc­es will be set to contempora­ry and popular classical music played by the Johannesbu­rg Philharmon­ic Orchestra under the baton of worldrenow­ned conductor, Theodore Kuchar.

ART The Ditsong National Museum of Cultural History is hosting an exhibition of work by abstract figurative painter Netsa Lemma, themed “A message of hope and inspiratio­n”. The show runs until August 22. Admission is free.
