The new competition is part of its biggest annual fundraiser, National Bandana Day. To enter, parents of babies aged up to two years old and children aged three to five should take a close-up head-andshoulders photo of their child wearing the latest Sunflower bandana. Upload the picture on the sunflowerfund.org.za website and pay a nominal entry fee of R50. The photo will be displayed on the site alongside other entries for the public to vote for. You may buy a bandana from any Pick n Pay store for National Bandana Day, which falls on October 12.
A BIT of your batter can make things a bit better in the battle against childhood cancer. The Cupcakes 4 Kids with Cancer initiative is calling on avid bakers to become Cupcake Angels on National Cupcake Day, September 28. As a Cupcake Angel, you will bake and donate 48 cupcakes to be sold at any of 45 malls across the country. Encourage everyone you know to buy a cupcake for R10 each on the day. The proceeds will go towards raising awareness and helping with medical costs for families of children receiving treatment for cancer. Go to cupcakesofhope.org or email info@cupcakesofhope.org to get involved as a cake decorator, sponsor, donor or volunteer.
