Which Miss World will dance in ‘Ram Leela’?

AFTER two super blockbusters with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Chennai Express, Deepika Padukone is gearing up for her next release. Titled Ram Leela, the tragic romance will feature Ranveer Singh and be directed by the masterful Sanjay Leela Bhansali of Devdas fame.
The movie was in the news recently when there were rumours that former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was set to make a comeback in a dance number. Although the actress and director have not confirmed this, there were fresh rumours that another former Miss World, Priyanka Chopra, had secured the same item. Yet again, no official comment has been made.
CLASH
SHAHRUKH Khan has done it again. After a nasty battle with Ajay Devgan last year when Khan used his star power to restrict the release of Son of Sardaar, he is now facing the same accusations from Ekta Kapoor, who produced the gangster flick Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara.
According to reports, the boxoffice takings from the movie were affected by the release of blockbuster Chennai Express, which dominated cinemas despite an apparent agreement between the producers to share screen space.
It is rumoured that Kapoor is miffed with Khan, who said: “We had booked singlescreen cinemas for two weeks. Our film was supposed to be released on Thursday. It then got shifted to Friday.
“A week means seven days and everyone has the right to run their film for seven days. So seven days got over and we gave them the cinemas on Friday. If there is an issue or complaint about this, I think it is a little unfounded.”
Insiders say Khan also avoided calls from Kapoor and her veteran actor father, Jeetendra. THIRD TIME LUCKY
SHAHID Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra are set to work together for a third time. After the success of Kaminey and the failure of Teri Meri Kahaani, the duo have been signed for Milan Talkies . Kapoor replaced Imran Khan, who has committed his dates to Vikramaditya Motwane, who last directed Lootera . Kapoor will soon be seen in the action comedy Phata Poster Nikhla Hero. BUSY TIME
HRITHIK Roshan is gearing up for a busy few months. While the first look of the superhero flick Krissh 3 has received rave reviews, the actor has resumed shooting Bang Bang with Katrina Kaif. The movie, directed by Sidharth Anand, is a remake of the Hollywood flick Knight and Day. Once shooting for this action romance is completed, Roshan will team up with Kareena Kapoor for the reincarnation of the romantic drama Shuddi.
FIRST TIME ISAI Illaiyaraja will, for the first time, compose in public for the forthcoming film Raja Raja Chozhanin Porval. The film will be directed by RS Amudheshwar, a former assistant to ace director
Faasil ( Kaadhalukku
Mariyaadhai). The composing event will take place on September 11 and at this stage it is not clear whether Illaiyaraja will compose one song or a whole album. The maestro has on numerous occasions composed an entire album in half a day.
LEAD ROLE
TAMIL Nadu magazines have confirmed that Vikram has signed to play the lead role in Goutham Vasudev Menon’s next film.
There has been no official announcement yet about filming or the release date for Surya’s Dhuruva Natchathiram, which has renewed questions about whether this project has been shelved.
HURDLE
DISNEY UTV has announced its next Tamil film. Titled Purampokku , it will star Arya and Vijay Sethupathy in the lead roles. It will be written and directed by national award-winning director SP Jhananathan ( Iyarkai, Ee and Peraanmai ) and is scheduled for release late in May 2014. It has already seen its first hurdle, though. Producer Natraj Subramaniam has claimed that he owns the rights to Purampokku and that UTV should choose another title.
TEAM UP
FOX Star Studios and CV Kumar will come together in a film titled Mundasupatti that will star Vishnu (of Neer Parravai fame) opposite Nandita Shwetha (from the comedy drama Edhir Neechal) in the lead roles. It will be directed by Ram, who achieved fame in the series Naalaya Iyakunar.
PRODUCER
AARYA is to turn producer for the forthcoming film Amarakaaviyam , which will star his younger brother, Sathya, in the lead role.
The film will be directed by Jeeva Shankar, who made an explosive debut in Vijay Anthony’s Naan. Amarakaaviyam will mark the launch of Arya’s own production house, The Show People.
