How to get there: Drive through Harkerville on the way to Plettenberg Bay from Knysna on the N2 for 1.5km and look for the turn-off to the right.

How to get there: Turn off from the N2 between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, near Harkerville.

Accommodation/rates: Single self-catering unit in this Sanparks reserve is R1 150 per person sharing per night with R250 per extra adult and R100 per extra child (aged 2 to 11), plus R18 conservation fee per vehicle. Last-minute reservations are accepted for a minimum of two nights.

How to get there: Turn off from the N2 5km after Sedgefield towards Knysna on the Barrington road and drive 15km before the turn-off to Teniqua.

Accommodation/rates: 4 x self-catering Honeymoon treehouses @ R1 150 per unit. 2 x self-catering Family tree houses @ R1 430 (one-bedroom) and R1 730 (two-bedroom). Up to 30% discount outside winter school holidays and higher rates for peak season.
