The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part II (M-Net, Channel 101, Today, 20:05)
In the final instalment of this fantasy romance drama, Bella (Kristen Stewart) is still getting used to her new powers and raising her daughter, Renesmee (Mackenzie Foy). Then a meddler from another vampire coven sees the girl and jumps to the conclusion that she is an immortal child who will never grow up, which is a crime against the vampire ruling class. Of course, the bigwigs get wind of this and come to investigate, leading to a big showdown in which several people seem to have something invested in the kid’s fate — including Bella’s werewolf friend Jacob (Taylor Lautner), who is in love with Renesmee, which nobody seems to find creepy. So grab some popcorn and get ready to see how it all ends.
A Special Kind of Mum (BBC Knowledge, Channel 184, Tuesday, 21:00)
This hour-long documentary is about two mothers who live with serious disabilities. The first is 25-year-old Trish Thomas, who has a disability characterised by stiff joints and abnormally developed muscles. She has been in a wheelchair since the age of eight and has two young children — and a third on the way. Then there is 26-year-old Michelle Harris, born with dwarfism. At just over 1m tall, she is struggling to deal with her son, who is about to be the same height but is approaching the terrible twos.
The Thin Blue Line (BBC Entertainment, Channel 120, Today, 22:35)
Made in 1995-1996, this comedy series (pictured) stars Rowan Atkinson as Inspector Raymond C Fowler, an incompetent who — as he tries to cover up his mistakes — creates an even bigger mess. The show only ran for two seasons but it has loyal fans who would love to see it again. This season starts with a runner, a thief who stole jewellery from a shop. Jamie (Will Estes) and his new partner Eddie Janko (Vanessa Ray) arrive on the scene just in time to hear a gunshot that takes out another officer. The thief, Angelo (Malcolm Goodwin), is taken into custody but it looks as though he will walk free. Of course, the Reagan family will do almost anything to prevent that. This thriller is based on a novel by Jeffery Deaver, in which the lead character is a quadriplegic who is dependent on his nurse, Thelma (Queen Latifah). Though his body has failed him, detective Lincoln Rhyme’s (Denzel Washington) mind is sharp. He uses his smarts and the help of a patrol cop (Angelina Jolie) to stop a serial killer.
