Miley out to kill Hannah — Dolly
AS Miley Cyrus recovers in hospital from “an extremely allergic reaction” to an antibiotic that forced her to cancel her US tour, her godmother, Dolly Parton, spoke of concern for the 21year-old pop star.
Parton said she started to worry when Cyrus told her she needed “to murder Hannah Montana”, the squeaky-clean character she portrayed in a Disney Channel series.
“One day she’d had enough and told me: ‘I need to murder Hannah Montana in order for people to accept who I really am’,” Parton told The Sun.
Cyrus has become notorious for her increasingly risque performances on stage. Her sexually provocative twerking provoked outrage.
“I’m hoping that she holds it in on the road and doesn’t do so many things that are that bizarre,” said Parton. “I don’t think the crowd would be so forgiving again if she did anything else that was really offensive. I don’t want it to overshadow her talent.”
Parton, a close friend of Cyrus’s father, Billy Ray Cyrus, said that she is “very worried” about his daughter’s nonchalant attitude towards drugs. The Wrecking Ball singer has admitted to trying cocaine and enjoying dagga.
“I think weed is the best drug on earth. One time I smoked a joint with peyote in it, and I saw a wolf howling at the moon,” Cyrus told Rolling Stone last year, adding: “I really don’t like coke. It’s so gross and so dark.”
Cyrus this week hit out from her hospital bed against suggestions that her illness had darker undertones. She tweeted that her critics should “shut up” and “let me heal”.
