Tripping up Ronnie

RED socks aside, there is little to back Gwede Mantashe’s claim to being a true communist.

What cannot be denied, though, is his status as a real mampara. The Luthuli House bulldog barked at Ronnie Kasrils this week, blaming him for some of the lives lost in the 1992 Bisho massacre.

What Mamparantashe doesn’t realise is that by blaming Kasrils, he is also admitting to blame on the part of the ANC. After all, Red Ronnie was its leader and rep in Bisho.

But nobody should expect the scruffy one to know everything about the ANC’s history.

Wasn’t he a coal miner when Red Ronnie was deep in the real trenches fighting for freedom?
