ON ROUTE COMPETITION
The Sunday Times, in conjunction with Jonathan Ball publishers, is offering readers the chance to win a weekend away for two — or a copy of On Route.
Every week until April 27, we will ask you a question about one of the towns or places mentioned in
On Route. The first correct entry drawn will win a weekend for two at a guesthouse in one of the towns featured in the book. Three runners-up drawn each week will win a copy of the book, worth R350.
This week’s question: What was the name of the shiny stone found by Frederick Wells, a manager at Premier Mine in Cullinan, on June 25 1905?
Send your answers — no more than one entry per person — to travel@sundaytimes.co.za. Entries close at noon on Tuesday April 22.
Last week’s winner is Anton Steenkamp, with runners-up John Pickering, Paddy Crichton and Kathy Sham. The correct answer was a padrao or stone cross.
