Lindiwe Suttle falls for ageing German rocker
THE daughter of former television personality Felicia Mabuza-Suttle is at the centre of a sizzling love affair with a 65-year-old German pop singer.
Lindiwe Suttle, 33, has been named as the girlfriend of Marius Muller-Westernhagen, a popular celebrity who lived with his wife of 25 years in Llandudno, Cape Town.
Last year Muller-Westernhagen and his wife separated — and now he has revealed why.
“I am now in a new, more than happy, and very inspiring, love affair,” he told German tabloid Bild am Sonntag. “You can’t help it when the lightning bolt of love strikes.”
News of the relationship has appeared in a number of German publications, which described the South African as beautiful and stylish.
Lindiwe grew up in South Africa where her mother, Felicia, had a television talk show and was one of the country’s best-known women.
However, Lindiwe sought fame as a stylist in the US and worked for Donna Karan and Beyoncé. But her aim was always to become a singer. Now, with the release of her debut album, this dream has come true.
The album, Kamikaze Art, was produced by Muller-Westernhagen, who is 32 years older than she is.
Lindiwe this week would not discuss the relationship. In response to questions from the Sunday Times her agent, Tim Renner, said she refused to discuss her private life. He said it was “not a subject for serious journalism”.

Muller-Westernhagen and Suttle met in 2009 when he attended one of her concerts in Cape Town. An actor and musician, he has been a feature in German rock music since the mid-1970s. With his wealth of experience, he helped Lindiwe establish her career as a singer, a move that was initially supported by his wife, Romney.
A close friend in Cape Town said Romney had loved Lindiwe and was completely trusting of the younger woman’s relationship with her husband.
The friend, who did not want to be named, said the singer’s wife was “absolutely broken” by news of the affair.
A former model from the US, she had given up her career for her pop-star husband.
Another friend, Heike Harvey, said Romney was still living in the Llandudno house while her husband and Lindiwe were together in Germany. He said she may move out because it was difficult for her with Lindiwe’s underwear in the house. Romney refused to comment this week.
