Plan is to hit high note in politics

-

Why did you choose your current career?

I have a passion for music. It’s the only network that all mankind can share, and it offers inner peace no matter what your situation. What has it taught you about money matters?

The industry in South Africa is very difficult. The genres that sell are difficult, and the genres that are popular are difficult. So all I do is stick to what I know and what I believe I do best. What was your first job and pay package?

This might sound like it belongs in a movie, but I was a Pizza delivery guy, delivered on a little scooter and made on average R40 a night. Ridiculous what a simple job like that can teach you about how to handle clients/people. What I learnt from my first job I still use every single day of my life. What has been your best career choice to date?

To be honest, working for myself. It’s tough, but if it was easy, everyone would be doing it. If you hit the “jackpot” today, what would you spend it on?

Smarties What are some of your money weaknesses?

Bruno Dos Santos, base guitarist for Changing Face, tells

Loni Prinsloo of his days as a pizza delivery boy and how he still uses those skills today in the evercompetitive South African music industry. The tough but exciting industry now has Dos Santos getting himself ready to enter the highly contested political battlefield.

Guitars, golf and guitars. Do you have any career role models?

It is difficult because I have business role models that keep me motivated.

In terms of music, I’d have to say Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters frontman). His story is beautiful and very successful. But ask him, it wasn’t always as pretty as he made it look. Did your childhood teach you anything about money?

Easy to make, easier to lose. Have you ever been hard up?

I’ve lost three businesses. That should answer the question. Everybody says it, but don’t lose faith in yourself, perseverance will pay off . . . Be patient. What do you view as some of your better investments in life, if any?

Property has never let me down, it’s a known obvious but one still has to be clever about it. Be patient, the right deal is always out there, and like they say “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”. What are some of your future career, money plans?

I’m actually looking into politics. It might seem far fetched, but so is everything else I’ve achieved in my life.
