BUON APPETITO!

-

Renowned Milanese chef Giorgio Nava will be promoting the delicious cuisine from his homeland, Italy, in a series of demonstrations at Hostex 2014. As the owner of several awardwinning restaurants in Cape Town, Giorgio’s familiarity with the South African market makes him the perfect ambassador to represent his home country. Giorgio will be demonstrating some of the cooking methods and products at which the Italians are so adept — wines, charcuterie, cheeses and olive oil, as well as baking and pastry (“The Italians are very good at it too, not just the French,” he says). Giorgio will also be demonstrating some of the imported products available on SA’s local market. “I am very honoured and excited to be there,” he says, adding that the Italian community will have a large presence at the show this year.

In SA he represents Italy and in Italy he represents SA — last year, Giorgio triumphed in the annual Pasta World Championships held in Parma, Italy. He plans to bear the torch once more in 2014. He says he will be promoting a few of his favourite South African products and ingredients in the competition. "I’m going back in June, to win again, of course!”
