-

AT the very outset, a friend posed an important question. Will Tiger Shroff emulate his talented father, Jackie Shroff, or will he surpass him as an actor?

It’s a difficult situation to dissect considering Jackie’s long tenure in the industry, having started his career with a bang in movies such as Hero and Swami Dada.

He went on to work on hits such as Ram Lakhan, Karma , Yudh , Aina, Tridev, Tezaab — the impressive list goes on.

However, his choice of movies over the past decade has not been more than average for an actor of his calibre.

His son, on his debut in Heropanti , arrives in superstar style for a movie that has the right mix of action, romance, drama and comedy.

Tiger Shroff plays the loveable and bold Babloo, who is totally smitten by Dimpy (Kriti Sanon).

He dances like a superstar and delivers the action and stunts like a seasoned performer.

His co-star, Sanon, is a surprise package who looks stunning and delivers a lovely performance.

There’s also much to admire about the talent of Prakash Raj. He carefully balances his fiery spirit with that of the helpless father.

Music-wise, what works magically for the movie are the flashback Hero tunes heard throughout, creating a sense of excitement.

The two songs that make the biggest impact are Whistle Baja and Rabba.

Director Sabbir Khan shows marked improvement from his previous venture, Khambaqqt Ishq.

He delivers a thoroughly enjoyable yet different romance with some powerful action scenes.

What is more, his movie marks the arrival of two talented youngsters who are set to have long and successful careers.
