THERE is something special about Akshay Kumar, who has ruled the Bollywood box office for many years.

Known for working on multiple releases each year, his list of recent successes includes movies such as the Housefull franchise, Rowdy Rathore and Oh My God.

Dubbed the Khiladi (Ace) of Indian cinema, the powerful actor has worked his charm in various genres of movies and has mastered comedy and action.

Kumar is back after an eight-month absence from the silver screen, having enjoyed amazing critical and commercial success last year in movies that included Special 26, Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! and Boss.

Now he teams up with producer Vipul Shah, who has worked with him on blockbuste­rs such as Waqt: A Race Against Time, Singh is King and Namastey London. The highly successful pair are back to break records with the eagerly anticipate­d Holiday: A Soldier is Never Off Duty, which is sure to lure audiences to the box office.

The movie, which is a remake of the smash Tamil hit Thuppakki, will be directed by the original director, Murugadoss, who rewrote Bollywood history a few years ago with Ghajini, which featured Aamir Khan in the lead role.

The movie is touted as a gripping, high-octane thriller and thoughtpro­voking drama that will take action to a new level.
