Tsogo Sun adds a sweet touch to celebrating women
THE women who accepted Tsogo Sun’s invitation to celebrate being a woman ditched their Tim Noakes diets to indulge in decadent chocolate delights on Thursday.
The event was held at the luxurious Punchinello’s restaurant at Montecasino in Fourways — and boy, were the women spoilt for choice with all the chocolate goodies on offer.
The people at Tsogo Sun believe a “woman’s work is never done” and they invited a few women to take the afternoon off and spend it in their company. It was an invitation we could not refuse.
Tsogo Sun’s general manager of communications, Priya Naidoo, said the event was held to encourage women to celebrate their femininity and delight in being the fairer sex.
Executive head chef Jade Sullivan prepared a spread fit for royalty and I felt like a child in a candy store. There were chocolate cakes, bonbons, decadent hot chocolate — even the grilled chicken had a hint of chocolate.
Among the guests were Metro FM’s Melanie Bala and Criselda Kananda.
Naidoo introduced the speakers, who included the executive director of the Sandton Convention Centre, Mati Nyazema, the general manager of the Sandton City Garden Court, Linda Reddy, and the general manager of the Elangeni and Maharani Hotel, Samantha Croft. The latter was recently recognised in CEO Magazine’s awards for Africa’s most influential women in business and government, winning the South Africa tourism and leisure sector prize.
Once the formalities were done, the women enjoyed music by Sharon Lotter and indulged in chocolate to their hearts’ content.
