Serial drive-by potato-thrower held
A 13-year-old Scottish girl was left with serious bruising after she was hit with a potato.
She is the second victim to be targeted in a spate of drive-by potato throwing this week.
According to the Clydebank Post, police arrested an 18-year-old man in the town.
Another victim told the newspaper she thought she had been shot, and that she keeled over from the force of the potato. ‘‘It was terrible. I actually thought I had been shot by a BB gun,” she said.
The woman, who did not want to be named, was also hit with a tub of coleslaw.
Police inspector Natalie Doherty condemned the attacks.
She said: “While initially the males involved may have deemed this a boyhood prank, the consequences were clearly not considered, and as a result two females, including a 13-year-old child, have been left injured.”
Police have charged one man in connection with the attacks, and are looking for a second man.
