Ali looks forward to birthday bash
MUHAMMAD Ali has been released from hospital after recovering from a severe urinary tract infection.
Ali, considered by many to be the greatest boxer of all time with the charisma to go along with his skill, was released this week and is recuperating at home.
Reports in December suggested that the former three-time heavyweight champion had been admitted to hospital with a mild case of pneumonia, but the reason for his hospital stay was clarified in a statement released on Wednesday afternoon.
Bob Gunnell, a spokesman for the Ali family, went on to reveal that the 72-year-old was looking forward to celebrating his birthday with friends and family, and expressed gratitude to wellwishers and the medical staff who treated him. Ali retired from boxing in 1981 and was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease three years later. — © The
