Left in trading limbo with no company registration
TOWARDS the end of last year I set about registering a company online with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission. After paying the necessary fees and getting the company name approved, I e-mailed the documents on December 9.
I have made several calls to the call centre to establish the progress of my application, but have yet to have one answered.
I have several advance orders, but suppliers will not supply stock unless I can provide proof of company registration. Neither can I open a business banking account.
I have credibility issues even before I can begin trading.
In a country with vast unemployment, you would think the government would fast-track applications. My frustration knows no bounds.— Logan Naidoo,
