ALAN Bell has been appointed MD of Durban advertising agency The Hardy Boys.
Bell, who holds a BCom from the University of KwaZuluNatal, previously worked at Unilever and Ogilvy.
He joined The Hardy Boys about four years ago as client service director. GLOBAL legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has appointed Greg Nott as head of its Africa practice in South Africa.
He was most recently a director at a national law firm and was a member of the management committee of Lex Africa.
He has served as vice president of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers, working with prominent legal experts. THE Port of Durban’s engineering department has appointed four senior engineers. The appointments come after critical positions were left vacant following the promotion of key personnel to the Transnet National Ports Authority head office.
Former building and marine maintenance manager Sindisiwe Shabalala is now senior engineer in charge of all the Port of Durban’s maintenance. She started her career 12 years ago as a technician in the roads and tracks division.
Dumisani Mkhize has been promoted from port planning to deputy port engineer.
Russel Vilbro and Putumani Mbambe have also been appointed as senior engineers responsible for various capital projects and for offering support to each precinct. MAC Consulting has appointed Nivan Moodley to grow the Johannesburg-based management consultant’s business in the oil, gas, chemicals and mining sectors in South Africa and the rest of Africa. Moodley, who has a BSc from the University of KwaZuluNatal, has more than 11 years’ experience advising clients in Africa and Southeast Asia.
