Produce evidence or go jump in a lake

-

HAD Sepp Blatter been a cat, he would have had more than nine lives.

The man is more slippery than a seal.

When they think they are drowning him in a cesspool of corruption they charge he masterminds in the Fifa corridors of power, the verticallychallenged one always remains the last man standing.

He is the off-the-field Messi, who nonchalantly dribbles his way out of trouble with a grin wider than the parting Red Sea.

When his detractors think they’ve got him in a tight corner, he twists and turns like a snake on hot desert sand and lives to tell his tale for another term.

On Friday he stood for a fifth term. Fifa’s claim to being an organisation of impeccable integrity and credibility has more holes than Swiss cheese.

But Blatter and his ability as the greatest survivor is a subject for another day.

The election of the 79-yearold happened amid investigations by the US and Swiss authorities into corruption.

The Americans claim their investigations are over a 24year period of World Cups.

They point an accusing finger at the 2010 World Cup and claim co-conspirators number 15 and 16 are high-profile South Africans who were involved in bribery that delivered the World Cup to these shores.

Now the US staged the soc- cer showpiece in 1994.

France followed in 1998. Korea and Japan co-hosted in 2002. Germany got their gong in 2006.

And of course, Phillip was here in 2010. Don’t you find it curious that this only points to South Africa, Russia and Qatar?

If they are investigating all World Cups, why have they not released any corruption details about US 94?

Or is this their way of telling us that Fifa suspended its corruption when they went to the land of the stars and stripes?

After all, the great Americans are squeaky clean.

They must name co-conspirators #15 and #16 and produce evidence of their dastardly deeds.

We will gladly take the bastards to FNB Stadium so we can spit in their faces and piss on their shoes.

When we are done, we will hand them over to the great Americans so that they can send these fools to rot at the occupied Guantanamo Bay.

Failure to do so will confirm that the media frenzy of this past week was nothing but a figment of their fertile supersized imagination of a z-list, washed-up Hollywood movie maker high on Durban Poison.

These have cast aspersions on the integrity and credibility of people.

Short lists are being drawn. People’s names are being dragged through the mud. The stench of suspicion is so thick you could cut it with a knife. Whodunnit? It wasn’t me. The Americans don’t understand that the World Cup is among the things we as South Africans pride ourselves in.

Do they think we think everything was kosher with Charles Dempsey abstaining during voting for the 2006 Cup.

We raised eyebrows but didn’t accuse anyone of corruption.

Those who follow these things closely will recall that there’s always some sort of corruption scandal involving this or that high-ranking Fifa official that erupts every time the Fifa presidential election comes around.

Hence the latest corruption probe by the US and Swiss authorities was not the least surprising.

The Americans have made damaging allegations against our country. The onus is on their Federal Bureau of Investigations to produce evidence. Those with elephant memories will remember that

The media frenzy was a figment of their fertile supersized imagination The probe by the US and Swiss authorities was not a bit surprising

it was the same US which, through Colin Powell, claimed to have a water-tight case that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. There was not a single iota of evidence to prove their claim.

Yet uphakimpi (warlord) George W Bush had no qualms about invading Iraq. The results are there for the world to see...
