How some of it was spent

R1.5-million stipend for the king’s six wives;

R1.2-million for repairs and maintenance of the king’s palaces;

R818 000 on education for the king’s children who are in boarding schools, covering accommodation, transport and food;

R628 000 on travelling expenses for royal family;

R360 000 on medical aid allowances and R293 000 on cellphone allowances;

R263 000 on groceries and R215 000 on speeches.
