Bang the dustbin of history

PRESS releases can be a lot of hot air, but surely the diminishing elephants of the IFP set a new standard in delusions of grandeur.

This week, it sent out a missive headlined “IFP Is A Miracle Of History”. ’Strue’s Bob.

It then stated: “The IFP has declared itself as a miracle of history when viewed against the amazing revival after the internal ructions which engulfed the party after the 2009 elections which threatened to decimate it.”

Apparently its rapture was caused by winning some municipalities in Zululand.

Hogarth has always thought it prudent to wait until others declare you a miracle, rather than claiming it. Unless, of course, it was meant ironically, but irony is not something the IFP has excelled at over the past 40years.
