Brit jailed for passing on HIV

A FITNESS trainer in the UK was jailed for five years for infecting two unsuspecting young women with HIV after claiming he was allergic to latex, and condoms “didn’t fit”.

Simon James, 46, from Bristol, contracted the Aids virus in 1995 and was supposed to be taking medication to lower the risk of passing it on.

But he had unprotected sex with two women around 15 years later without telling them about his illness.

The two women now have to take medication for the rest of their lives.

Jailing James for five years at Bristol Crown Court, Recorder Michael Parroy said: “With what I see as your perfectly deliberate selfishness you have blighted the lives of these two young women.”—©
