THE De Beers Group of Companies has appointed Nimesh Patel as chief financial officer.

Patel joins from Anglo American, where he was group head of corporate finance. Before that, he spent 15 years in investment banking at JPMorgan and as an MD at UBS.

De Beers CEO Philippe Mellier said: “Nimesh has a strong track record of working in senior finance roles in large, complex organisati­ons. I am delighted to welcome him to De Beers at an exciting time in the company’s evolution.” AIR Traffic and Navigation Services has appointed Phillip Boshielo chief technology officer.

He has a BSc in electrical engineerin­g, a BEng honours in computer engineerin­g, a master of business leadership and has completed an advanced executive programme. He is completing his masters in engineerin­g.

Boshielo has extensive experience in telecommun­ications. Before joining ATNS, he was the general manager of partnershi­ps, roaming and wholesale at MTN Group. He started his career at Eskom and worked at Denel, BMW SA and Vodacom. BARNABAS Dube has been appointed MD of Encha Property Services. He is a chartered secretary with more than 17 years’ experience in finance and administra­tion, company secretaria­l, corporate governance and business management.

After completing his tertiary studies, Dube joined Rennies Group and later Eskom. He then moved to Standard Corporate Merchant Bank and later joined New Diamond Corporatio­n as financial manager.

He is the financial director of Encha Group and executive director of Encha Properties and other subsidiari­es of Encha. THE Public Relations Institute of Southern Africa has appointed Linda Weaver chairwoman of its accreditat­ion committee.

Weaver has more than 12 years’ experience in senior communicat­ion and marketing management in the private sector, including eight with Saab as head of marketing, and 18 years in the South African Air Force.

Her experience includes many years as a specialist in government communicat­ion, public relations, internal communicat­ion, media management and the management of large-scale events and protocol.
