ALMOST a year after her death at a luxury resort in Mauritius, Lee-Ann Palmarozza’s family say they are finding it harder to make peace with her death.

Palmarozza, 35, left her family on December 26 last year to join her onagain, off-again boyfriend, Peter Wayne Roberts, 40, at the luxury Anahita resort in Mauritius.

On December 29, her body was found in the resort’s swimming pool.

Roberts was later arrested and, after months in custody, charged with manslaughter. He is expected to go on trial in March.

Lee-Ann’s stepfather, Jack Haye, said he and Lee-Ann’s mother intended travelling to Mauritius to attend the trial.

“As a family we just want justice to run its course.

“Whether he is proven innocent or guilty, we’ll be fine with it, as long as justice runs its course.”

Haye said they had not been in touch with Roberts’s family or his lawyers over the past year.

“But there’s no hate. There’s nothing. We’re just waiting for him to appear in court. A whole year has gone by and we’re just waiting.”

Haye said Lee-Ann’s daughter, CHARGED: Millionaire Peter Wayne Roberts outside court in Mauritius Dante, who was seven at the time, was “coping”.

“She’s a happy child and is doing well at school. She’s doing fine.

“We’re all still broken and just really want to move on with our lives and that can only happen once the trial starts.”

Roberts’s lawyer Nicqui Galaktiou confirmed that her client was facing a charge of manslaughter.

The trial, scheduled to be heard at the Supreme Court of Mauritius in Port Louis, has been set down for three weeks from March 14, Galaktiou said.

Roberts has been incarcerated since January 2.
