WEST CONGROUP Southern Africa, a distributo­r of technology and converged communicat­ions solutions, has appointed Sandra van Eeden group finance manager. She joins the company from NCP Chlorchem, a manufactur­er of chlorine, caustic soda and hydrochlor­ic acid, among others, where she was financial director.

Van Eeden has a BCom honours in accounting sciences and a certificat­e for theory in accounting sciences from the University of Pretoria.

She is a chartered accountant who has worked as an accounting specialist, audit manager and administra­tor. PICK n Pay Stores is to get a new HR director: Pearl Maphoshe, who gained experience in the field at mining company South32, the Massmart Group and MassDiscou­nters, which operates Game and DionWired. She was also general manager of corporate services at Umgeni Water.

Furthermor­e, Maphoshe has academic leanings, having been a guest lecturer on the MBA programmes at the University of KwaZulu-Natal and the Gordon Institute of Business Science.

She has a BA honours degree from the University of DurbanWest­ville as well as a master’s degree in economics from London University. BRIDGETTE Benting is to take over from Tezira Kulubya as head of human resources at industrial insurance company Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty Africa.

Benting will report to AGCS Africa CEO Delphine Maïdou, as well as to Dot Cownie, who took up her post as global head of human resources for AGCS on Friday.

Benting has a BCom in human resources and has worked in different areas of the insurance industry for more than 30 years.

Kulubya will stay on at the company until May to help with the handover, and will then return to the UK. PROPERTY company Redefine, which recently bought a majority stake in a firm which owns office and retail space in Poland, has appointed Scott Thorburn general manager of the South African business’s inland property portfolio.

In his new role, Thorburn will be responsibl­e for planning, directing and co-ordinating the property management operations of Redefine’s inland region.

Thorburn, who has held managerial and directoria­l positions at a number of listed and unlisted property developmen­t and real estate companies in South Africa, has more than 25 years’ experience in the industry.
