STUART Loxton has been appointed independent chairman of the Adviceworx Advisory Council, a financial advisory company.
Loxton has 30 years’ experience in financial services and served in executive management roles with Liberty, Old Mutual and the Standard Bank Group.
Loxton has experience of sales and distribution models, including as a director of Standard Bank Financial Consultancy, where he led the transition from a small sales business unit to the strategic sales and distribution capability for the group. ANTHONY Palmer has been appointed to the board of the Carrick Group of companies as executive director for investments and products. Carrick is a financial management company.
Palmer qualified as a chartered accountant. He has many years of experience in structured credit sales and derivative marketing at banks in London and on Wall Street. His last position before joining Carrick was MD and global head of the alternative risk markets group at Deutsche Bank.
Palmer has been with Carrick since its inception in 2014. Within months of joining, he was appointed a senior manager in the financial advisory division. MERCEDES-Benz South Africa has appointed Nadia Trimmel vice-president of MercedesBenz Vans Southern Africa. She will succeed Nicolette Lambrechts, who takes on the responsibility for Mercedes-Benz Vans in Canada.
Trimmel holds a BCom in marketing and economics from the University of the Witwatersrand.
She started her career in the motor industry as a marketing/sales trainee in 2000 at another carmaker and was soon promoted to district sales manager.
Trimmel joined MercedesBenz South Africa as the national sales manager (vehicles sales and aftersales) in 2014. BALLITO Junction Regional Mall, which is due to open in March next year, has appointed Geraldine Jorgensen CEO.
Jorgensen has a BCompt, certificates in shopping centre marketing and management from the South African Council of Shopping Centres and in property from the South African Property Owners Association, among other qualifications.
She began her career in property at Old Mutual Property and managed a portfolio of Durban properties for the company.
Before taking up her new position at Ballito Junction, Jorgensen spent six years at the super-regional Gateway Theatre of Shopping in Durban as property manager.
