FIAT Group Automobiles South Africa and Chrysler South Africa have a new CEO and MD: Robin van Rensburg. He succeeds Marco Melani, who had been in the posts since March last year.
Van Rensburg, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the field, said he was excited to head the group “during such an interesting product cycle”, with the introduction of vehicles such as the Alfa Romeo Giulia, the Abarth 124 Spider and 595, and the Fiat Tipo. NELSON Mandela Metropolitan University has appointed Dr Randall Jonas as its business school director.
Jonas brings his business and educational experience to the school and is familiar with the university, having served on its council and its trust. He is also president of the alumni association.
He has more than 35 years’ experience in the public and private sectors, including many years as CEO of the Eastcape training centre and private FET college. He has a doctorate specialising in organisational management. NISSAN South Africa has made some senior appointments. Kabelo Rabotho is the new marketing director and Leslie Ramsoomar has become head of sales and operations: sub-Saharan Africa.
Rabotho has more than 20 years’ experience in the industry. He joins Nissan from BMW South Africa, where he was GM of sales and brand management for Mini.
Mike Whitfield, MD of the Nissan Group of Africa, said: “I feel privileged to have someone of Kabelo’s calibre joining our team.”
Ramsoomar began his career in sales at a Nissan dealership with McCarthy, before moving to Renault retail as manager of preowned sales, then as dealer principal.
Whitfield said: “It is essential that we continue to build on Nissan’s competitiveness . . . and I believe that Leslie will help us achieve that.” ENGINEERING and construction company Aecom has appointed Senika Devsheel as its new human resources director for Africa.
Devsheel, who has an honours degree in industrial psychology from the University of KwaZuluNatal, has 14 years’ experience in the field of human resources, managing a wide range of HR activities.
Aecom Africa CEO Carlos Poñe said he was confident Devsheel would help position the company as the leading fully integrated global infrastructure firm in Africa.
