If you’re a fan of Arthur C Clarke’s sci-fi, then this three-part miniseries from 2015 is for you. It stars Mike Vogel and is an adaptation of Clarke’s 1953 novel of the same name about an extraterrestrial overlord who arrives on Earth to solve our problems. If you’ve read the novel, you know the twist — but the most fun can be had on YouTube, where paranoid extremeright US religious channels are propping up the film as some kind of hidden-in-plain-sight new world order propaganda or taunt. It’s a hoot.
