MAZDA has appointed South African Craig Roberts MD of Mazda Southern Africa. He is currently head of sales.
Roberts will take over from David Hughes, who came from Australia in 2013 with a clear mandate: set up Mazda Southern Africa as a standalone entity and establish a new dealer footprint.
“Roberts is an outstanding senior manager and he has proved himself with a stellar record as head of sales,” said Hughes.
“With a person of his experience and business acumen, we did not need to look far for our new MD.”
REDEFINE Properties has appointed Bridgitte Mathews to its board as an independent nonexecutive director. She has also been approved to chair the remuneration committee.
Mathews is a chartered accountant, the founder of Ca Vie Investments, and a member of African Women Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Directors.

JONAS Bogoshi has been appointed channel director for the Southern African Development Community at Dell EMC.
Bogoshi joined EMC as country manager in 2015 with 24 years’ experience in the information and communication technology sector. In his new role, he will be responsible for Dell EMC’s new partner programme.
He said: “Digital transformation represents the single biggest challenge facing organisations and I am excited to position the programme as a digital transformation catalyst allowing partners to assist us in the creation of a sustainable economy and an inclusive society.”
THUSANG Mahlangu has succeeded Delphine Traoré Maïdou as CEO of Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty Africa. Maïdou remains on the AGCS Africa board as a nonexecutive director.
The company is AGCS Societas Europaea’s carrier for corporate and specialised insurance business in Africa.
Mahlangu, who was previously the head of property, joined AGCS Africa in 2013 as head of market management, focusing on developing sales and distribution across Africa.
He has an MBA from Milpark Business School and more than 20 years of experience in insurance and risk management.
