USE mu­nic­i­pal drink­ing wa­ter only for es­sen­tial wash­ing, cook­ing and drink­ing pur­poses, and only use in­doors;

Flush the toi­let only when nec­es­sary;

Re­duce show­ers to two min­utes;

Col­lect your shower, bath and basin wa­ter and re­use it to flush your toi­let, wa­ter the gar­den and wash your car;

Wait for a full load be­fore run­ning wash­ing ma­chines and dish­wash­ers;

Use a cup in­stead of run­ning taps in the bath­room or kitchen when brush­ing teeth, shav­ing, drink­ing, et cetera;

De­frost food in the fridge or nat­u­rally, rather than plac­ing it un­der run­ning wa­ter;

En­sure that toi­let flush valves flush for no more than four sec­onds and uri­nals for no more than eight sec­onds; and

If your school, busi­ness or or­gan­i­sa­tion has a swim­ming pool, fit a pool cover to prevent wa­ter loss through evap­o­ra­tion.
