New global fund with dividend focus
● Exchange traded fund provider CoreShares will list a new dividendfocused ETF on the JSE this month that invests in shares around the world, the CoreShares S&P Global Dividend Aristocrats ETF.
You can use rands to buy into the ETF, which will invest in shares in North America, Europe and Asia.
CoreShares MD Gareth Stobie says in the US four dividend-focused ETFs are among the 10 largest ETFs.
The index that the new ETF tracks is based on S&P Dow Jones Indices’ longstanding Dividend Aristocrats methodology. This methodology invests in shares that have maintained their dividends for between seven and 25 years.
These companies have strong cash flows, low levels of debt, high market share and mature, stable business models run by disciplined management teams.
It offers effective exposure to 145 shares across 24 countries, including Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johnson, Unilever, McDonald’s, Colgate, British American Tobacco, Lindt, Chevron, LG, Nestlé, L’Oréal, Hyundai and Tencent.
