A few things you only realise on a bike

You get to forget about the world

When you’re on a bike your concentration is 110% on the task at hand. There’s no time to let your mind wander or to check your social media streams. Being on a bike is like being in a communications isolation tank: a chance to escape the digital trappings of 21st-century life.

You get the best parking

Traffic sucks. Parking sucks. Well, in a car that is. With a bike you are pretty much guaranteed of securing a spot right outside wherever it is you want to go. Restaurants. Coffee shops. Supermarkets. Access is always better on a bike.

You feel at one with nature

Heated seats and A/C have turned us into spoilt brats. When riding a bike you’re at the mercy of the heat and the rain and the wind and the cold. You don’t just see the seasons changing — you feel it. And it can be exhilarating.
