Troubled North West premier Supra Mahumapelo got all biblical during a media briefing this week. He told journos that he was sleeping well, thanks to prayers from well-wishers, while his province was burning. “I normally stop at garages to greet people and in Swartruggens people there came out of a taxi and said ‘Mr Mahumapelo don’t worry we’re with you, we’re praying for you, we know that you’re innocent and you work very hard.’ ” He then moved on to those who want to take him out, politically and otherwise. “We must pray for them, we must forgive them, even those who wanted to kill me, we must forgive and this is not arrogance.” Black Jesus knows how to live up to his name.
