Prince Harry’s best man will be his brother, Prince Wil­liam, Duke of Cam­bridge, who will have to forgo ap­pear­ing at the 2018 FA Cup fi­nal, which takes place on the same day. Ap­par­ently there was a bit of a wait for this an­nounce­ment, pos­si­bly hint­ing at some de­lib­er­a­tion. Un­der­stand­ably so. This is Eng­land we’re talk­ing about, so royal wed­ding or foot­ball fi­nal? This is not a mat­ter to be de­cided lightly.

In­stead of wed­ding gifts, the cou­ple asked that peo­ple in­stead send do­na­tions to a list of sev­eral char­i­ta­ble or­gan­i­sa­tions.


I’m no ex­pert on royal wed­dings but in my de­cid­edly un­learned opin­ion, the whole deal of de­cid­ing which ti­tles each spouse will get and where they'll get to live and so on seems a bit ar­bi­trary rather than ac­cord­ing to any clear laws. Still, here are...
