Pat was an autocrat

-

The DA bites back

The blue party was singing the blues this week. And it appeared to have borrowed from the late soul crooner Barry White. Watching James Selfe and company serve divorce papers on Auntie Pat, Hogarth could not help but hear a White classic, Whatever We Had, We Had, in the background. And then the ANC entered the fray, lamenting the blue party’s decision to dump Mama Pat. Zizi Kodwa and Ebrahim Rasool spoke about how they were not courting Mama Pat but she was free to join the ANC.

Their message to the DA seemed inspired by a Spinners’ song of the 1970s. “You’re throwing a good love away” is how Hogarth decoded their message to Madiba-lite.
