Kiwi football first to play fair by women

New Zealand’s football body announced a new deal this week that gives the national women’s team the same pay and conditions as the men’s side, becoming one of the first countries to do so.

Providing equality was “a landmark moment”, New Zealand Football said.

The deal is unlikely to bring vast sums to women players as the men earn only a fraction of their highprofile international counterparts.
