Session 1 for numismatics features assorted gold Krugerrands, twin sets, British sovereigns, proof sets and Africana commemorative mint replica stamp sets.

Medal collectors are in for a treat, with an unusual miniature group of medals. Three men’ s vintage wristwatches and a diamond-set ring will feature, including a superlative Rolex Oyster Perpetual two-tone submariner chronometer and an IWC.

A collection of Oriental objéts, Chinese jade carvings, figures and ivory netsukes will also be on offer.

Among the porcelain are six rare hand-painted and detailed Royal Copenhagen Flora Danica luncheon plates circa 1894-1922. This will be followed by Stuart, Waterford and Bohemian crystal wares and a 1930s Shirley Temple doll with original scarce Sunday Express enamel and pin-badges.

Highlights from the furniture and embellishments section include a late 19th century Cape-Dutch style brass two-tier 12-light chandelier; a functional Cassina I Maestri LC4 chaise longue à reglage continu, circa 1970s, originally designed by the master Le Corbusier in 1928 and a stunning example of 20th century furniture design. The session will conclude with Chinese carpets and antiquarian Africa maps.

Session 2 starts at 12am with select books on South African art and hunting, followed by 93 lots of South African art and sculpture, including portraits by Carl Buchner and Maggie Laubser.
