COURSE IN HR HIRING PRACTICES

-

Organisations are increasingly regarding its employees as income-generating assets that could create a competitive advantage for the organisation. Competent and efficient staff can go a long way in retaining valuable customers and without doubt provide the organisation with the competitive advantage it so much needs to survive in a fierce competitive market. Competent and efficient employees are, however, not easy to find and organisations must deploy specific strategies to staff the organisation with top performers. The purpose of the Course in HR Hiring Practices is therefore to equip HR practitioners, HR managers, supervisors and trade union representatives with the skills to recruit, interview and select suitable applicants in a fair, professional and legally-sound manner.

The appointment of staff is no longer the sole responsibility of HR personnel and therefore managers also need to be knowledgeable of the basic principles of recruitment, interviewing and selection of staff. If you are pursuing a career as a manager or in the field of human resource management, this course will equip you with the skills to become a competent recruiter, employment manager, supervisor, an employment specialist in an employment agency or a HR consultant. Trade union representatives will also increase their ability to make meaningful contributions to the appointment of staff at organisations. Opportunities exist for starting your own employment services business.

This course is a six month course presented by UNISA, through the Centre for Business Management. The course consists of two modules namely (1) Recruitment and Job application management and (2) Job interviews and Appointments.

Duration: 6 months (July to Nov 2018) Fees: R1 400 per module (Total = R2 800) Registration closes 30 June 2018
