MAMPARA OF THE WEEK

Supra Mahumapelo

-

Not going quietly in North West

The self-styled Black Jesus of North West, the not-so-super Supra Mahumapelo, finally fell on his sword this week. His departure from the premiership of North West was a sequence of the absurd. Supra the premier submitted a letter of resignation to the chairman of the ANC in the province — himself. Then Supra the chairman declined the resignation and Supra the premier sent himself on leave, appointing an acolyte as acting premier. Luthuli House put a stop to all the nonsense by recalling the mampara from the premier position. Hellbent on having the last word, he called the forced resignation “early retirement”. Black Jesus must go and enjoy braaiing meat from the cattle he donated to the man who said the ANC would rule until Jesus returned.
